The Job Ready Program — Explained Simply
The JRP is a 4-stage pathway managed by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) that allows international trade graduates to have their skills formally assessed and recognised for Australian skilled migration purposes.
Each stage builds on the previous one, and successful completion opens the door to Subclass 189, 190, or 491 skilled visas — and ultimately, permanent residence in Australia.
Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA)
TRA reviews your overseas qualifications and work experience against Australian standards to grant you provisional recognition.
Learn MoreJob Ready Employment (JRE)
Work in your trade for at least 12 months (1,575 hours) under a TRA-approved employer who monitors your progress.
Learn MoreJob Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
A registered TRA assessor visits your workplace to observe and verify your trade skills against Australian standards.
Learn MoreJob Ready Final Assessment (JRFA)
After successfully completing the JRWA, TRA issues your full skills assessment — the key document for your skilled visa application.
Learn MoreThe Employer-Sponsored Pathway to Permanent Residence
Most 482 visa holders can apply for the Subclass 186 TRT stream after 2 years of full-time employment with the same employer.
